Pulka & Paneer Subji

 Paneer subji is a simple and easy dish to make and so is the Pulka too. Paneer can to substitute with Tofu too. lets start with Pulka - its a roti cooked directly on fire...

Ingredients:
For Pulka :
One cup of Wheat flour [use any type of atta you prefer].
Salt to taste.
Little bit of water to make the Dough.

For Paneer subji :
200 grams of Paneer
1 Medium Onion
2 Medium Tomatoes
6 cloves of Garlic
1/4 inch of Ginger
3-4 Red Chilli
1 Green Chilli
Spices - 1/4 inch of Cinnamon, 3 Cloves, 5 Peppercorns, 1 Star Anise, 1 Marathi mokku and 1 Bay leaf.
3 Tablespoons of Oil
Salt to taste.

Preparation method:
For Pulka :
Step 1:
Knead the dough with atta and enough water, it should be not sticky nor hard. And rest it for 10 - 12 minutes.

Step 2:
Split the dough into small pieces and roll them flat with rolling pin.


Step 3:
Place the flattened dough in the tawa and cook it for about a minute both the sides in low heat.


Step 4:
 Now place the pulka direct into the flame and cook it for about 6 seconds, pulka will puff up.



 For Paneer Subji :
Step 1:
Grind the tomatoes, red chilli, garlic and ginger into a fine paste.






Step 2:
Heat the oil in a pan and add the spices to it along with the sliced onions. Once the onions are translucent add the ground paste and salt. cook it till the raw smell goes off.


Step 3:
Now add a little water and the diced Paneer into the pan and let it cook for about 10 minutes.


Just before serving the panner, sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves. Tasty Paneer subji and Pulka ready. Both the dishes are courtesy of my distant relative - My Wife LOL ;-P..... Happy Cooking!!!
