Starting the first dish with something sweet ;-). The Caramel Custard, this a dish easy to make and tastes great. Usually we get the custard powder form the SuperMarket and mix it with milk to get the texture. However having few ingredients that already available in the kitchen custard can be done.
Ingredients:
1 cup of Milk (300 ml). [get the milk that has more fat content]
1 cup of Sugar (200 grams).
1 Tablespoon of Vanilla essence.
2 Eggs/ For veggies 100 ml of thick cream.
Preparation method:
For Caramel
Step 1: Add 100 grams of sugar with 5 tablespoons of water in a stainless steel pan.
Step 2: Keep in low heat, Stir the sugar till it completely dissolved and stop stirring.
Step 3: Turn off the heat once you get a dark red color [do not burn the sugar].
Step 4: Pour the caramel into the warmed moulds [ramekins] and roll them so that caramel spreads around the ramekins. Set it aside to cool.
For Custard
Step 1: Add the Eggs, Vanilla Essence and remaining sugar and beat it till the sugar dissolves.
Step 2: Heat the Milk to lukewarm and then mix it with the egg and sugar.
Step 3: Pour the mixture into the ramekins evenly. and place in tray filled with warm water.
Step 4: Place the tray in oven and cook it for 20 mins. if you don't have oven then place the tray in a pressure cooker with little water and close the lid do not put the whistle on. Let the steam escape out. cook in low flame for about 20 - 30 mins.
Step 5: Take the ramekins out of the tray and cool it before keeping the fridge.
One easy dessert to make in under 30 mins and tastes excellent. You can try different flavor to the custard by adding Orange or lime or cinnamon and use your imagination... instead of vanilla.
